Details: Product Description Coming in at ~38 grams with a ~44mm cutting length, Dovo’s 46 Barbarossa is a ‘shorty’ razor, same grind profile as any common type 5/8″ full hollow round head Solingen modern minus that 2.5cm or so of cutting length (and weight),The ebony scales have been shortened accordingly, and this 46581 new-for-2021 model’s known as the “Moustache” 46 razor. Why haven’t I tried one of these? Spoiled for choice, I suppose. OK, don’t suppose. Sheesh. Tough grader. Anyway, lord knows honing it’s going to be a billion times easier…I can’t miss down there (maybe it looks as so in the countless vids but you underestimate the advantage of closest to the fulcrum and the resultant great reduction on stone mileage necessary to get the same thing). So far these little guys feel a little funny on the stones, but what can I say about them,Since this has a rounded head and the other 45581, too, has the shoulder at this size, it seems a best candidate to go play with, for myself. I go for the Spanish/French/square head only if it comes with some other advantage like no shoulder, thinner, etc. I wish round head and no shoulder would come back, that’s really gone away from Solingen.
